Pine & Ponder Outdoors is located on Treaty 19, also known as the Ajetance Treaty, named after a Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This area, now known as Orangeville, Ontario is the Headwaters of the Credit River, known in Anishinaabemowin as the Missinnihe, or “Trusting River.” This land is home to many Indigenous peoples, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Wendat, Petun, Inuit, and Métis. We feel incredibly grateful to observe, learn, be curious, and spend time on this land, and we honour the ongoing relationships and stewardship Indigenous peoples hold with it.
