Professional Development
Full Day for Formal & Informal Educators

The Professional Development workshops are designed for educators eager to integrate Nature Journaling and environmental education into their teaching practice. This immersive training provides teachers with the tools, strategies, and confidence to effectively incorporate nature journaling into their classrooms.

  • Learn the fundamentals of Nature Journaling, including how to observe, document, and reflect through words, pictures and numbers to deepen students’ connection to nature.

  • Discover how to seamlessly integrate Nature Journaling into a variety of subjects such as science, language arts, math and social studies.

  • Gain practical tools to foster mindful observation, creative expression, and critical thinking in students of all ages.

Additional workshops are also available, featuring Project WILD, Below Zero, and Project WET. Throughout these workshops, educators will:

  • Explore Project WILD, Below Zero, and Project WET Canada: three internationally recognized environmental education programs that focus on wildlife conservation, water education, and climate change. Teachers will gain hands-on strategies to use these resources.

  • Receive a comprehensive toolkit with resources, lesson plans, and activity ideas that educators can immediately implement in the classroom or outdoor settings.

These workshops are ideal for educators in formal and informal learning environments, including schools, nature centers, and outdoor education programs. By the end of the session, educators will be equipped to inspire students to engage deeply with the environment, think critically about environmental issues, and develop a love for learning through outdoor exploration.
