School Programs

Introduction to Nature Journaling
2-Hour Hands on Workshop for Grades K-8
Each interactive 2-hour workshop is thoughtfully tailored to the developmental level and curriculum needs of each specific grade. Using the INIWIRMO framework (I Notice, I Wonder, It Reminds Me Of), students are guided through the art of nature journaling in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and meaningful.
In addition to being customized for each grade, every workshop is designed with a specific science curriculum focus, ensuring strong connections to key concepts such as life systems, earth and space, environmental impacts, or scientific inquiry—depending on the grade level.
Through hands-on exploration, students will:
-
Notice the details of their environment, observing the small and subtle wonders of the natural world.
-
Wonder about what they see, asking thoughtful questions and cultivating curiosity.
-
Reflect by connecting their observations to personal memories, emotions, or broader ideas.
Each session provides students with the foundational tools and creative inspiration to begin or deepen their nature journaling journey. By the end of the workshop, every learner will have a personal journal filled with rich observations, insights, and a stronger connection to the outdoors.
All programs are aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
